Oversew

This stitch is used to seam edges on easily fraying fabrics.

Here's how

1 Insert the needle 3-6mm from the edge on one of the two pieces of fabric you are about to sew together.

2 Push the needle into the other piece of fabric and pull through, joining the two fabrics.

3 Loop the stitch over the edge of the combined fabric.

4 Make the next stitch 6mm further on.

5 Pull through.

6 Loop the stitch over, repeating step 3.

7 Repeat this stitch for as long as desired.

8 To fasten off don't pull through on your last stitch, leaving a small loop.

9 Push the needle through this loop.

10 Pull the thread through tightly and cut off any excess.
