Depending on how quickly you pick it up you will leave with a cushion and hints and tips about getting the best from your machine plus basic sewing skills

Having trouble eating your 5 a day? Well why not come and create your own fabric fruit and veg brooch with Laura Lou?
Laura Lou designs and makes light weight jewellery from striking textiles, vintage buttons and traditional techniques to create conversation pieces that brighten up any outfit.
You could make a characterful wrinkly carrot, a lovely bunch of bananas or some perfect peas in a pod to bring a smile to any ones face.
Workshop is for one brooch only.
All materials and refreshments provided.

You should have knowledge of garment making and using patterns, as this is not a beginners class.

You can come to work on a project, learn new things from basic knitting, crochet, sewing to whatever you aspire to. Bring your wool some needles or any other creative endeavors you are working on. We welcome absolute beginners, as long as you are keen and willing. Feel free to pop in at anytime, stay for an hour or all evening it's up to you. Tea, coffee & biscuits are provided, drinks & food are available from the cafe bar.

The next stage in our learn to sew classes and things are becoming more complicated, with the addition of sleeves and collars
You will learn how to cut a shirt/blouse pattern, apply yokes and patch pockets, inset sleeves, attach collars and add a button front fastening
Please note this is not a beginners class and you will need to know how to use your machine and have experience of sewing seams, cutting fabric and assembling more basic garments such as trousers

The Happy Stitcher is starting bag-making workshops in Haslemere. In the run up to Christmas, four bag making workshops are planned. In one evening you learn a new skill or brush up on an old one, have a great evening out and come home with your hand made item.
