Want to perfect your sewing skills. Look no further! This is the sewing bible for beginners and seasoned stitchers.

Have you inherited a sewing machine or recently bought a new one and need help getting started? Perhaps you are thinking of buying a machine and simply want to find out if sewing is your bag! Or maybe your wardrobe is looking a little lack lustre and in need of a revamp? Then Cloth magazine has the answer – a one day beginner’s workshop.

Our classes, run by our own in-house expert, Jacqui Ramsey, will equip you with all the confidence and skills you need to reinvent old and outdated garments at a fraction of the cost of buying new!

Above all, learning in small groups (usually no more than six people) in a relaxed atmosphere is great fun.

During the day-long classes for beginners, held throughout the Bristol area, Jacqui will help you to get a grip with the basics:

• Learn how to wind a bobbin, thread your machine, sew a straight seam and make a buttonhole.

• Master different seam finishes used in dressmaking and get familiar with decorative and utility stitches.

• By the end of the day you’ll have all you need to recycle outdated garments, and customise your clothes to create your own style.

(Includes all sewing machines and materials and refreshments. You will need to bring a packed lunch.)

You can pay by paypal using the link below or write a cheque for £49 to Real Design and Media, 9th Floor, Tower House, Fairfax Street, Bristol, BS1 3BN
